That may sound just a little strange since you will be needing to make a video for publishing but just like article writing for internet marketing has to do with things other than just simply writing, video marketing starts with things other than the video.

What are the basics for video marketing?

1. Perform thorough keyword research for your niche.  If you have done other types of internet marketing you already know the importance of keywords.  You will need to find out the most popular keywords for your niche.  To save yourself some time and choose the very best keywords, perform your research using various keyword tools the internet has to offer you.

2. Perform your own searches on Goggle and YouTube.  You can determine what keywords your competitors are using to drive traffic to their site.  Think outside of the box when it comes to searching.  Use these keywords and keyword phrases to drive traffic to your site.

3. Give some thought to the title of your video.  In order to get Google’s attention to your video it should be keyword sensitive in the beginning 66 characters.  If you fail to provide rich keyword use within this time your results for search engine recognition and ranking will not be as good as it could be if you do this.  Remember internet marketing is more about what you do rather than who you are.  Giving your video a title that includes your keyword(s) is a great way to show what you do.

Some tips for the actual video are noted below.

1. Most marketing videos are between 1-3 minutes.  Some training videos can be up to 10 minutes but that is the time limit for Google and YouTube.

2. There are multiple free video publishing sites available including Google and YouTube.

3. Editing your video can easily be done with Windows Movie Maker or iMovie maker on Mac.
